Extreme Couponing Tip #1: Start Collecting Coupons!

So we all have been there.  Having no idea how to start couponing, what to do first, or even knowing what stores to go in to.  Therefore, I have started a new series on my YouTube Channel and here on my blog.  I will do videos solely on tips on how to become an extreme couponer or to simply learn and grow as a couponer.  My 4 year coupon journey as taught me way more than how to save money and that it is a way of life that not everyone will understand.  I do Coupon Topic Wednesday videos that most of the time talk about real life issues of being an extreme couponer.  Here for these tips I want to teach more about becoming and staying a couponer.

Here is my Tip #1:  Start Collecting Coupons.

Oh do I remember the very first day of buying 4 papers.  The confused faces that I would get over the coming.  A while later getting asked "Are you a couponer" and replying with such excitement "YES"!

The very first thing you are going to need to be a couponer is COUPONS! So the week that you want to start couponing buy at least 4 if not 6 papers depending on how many people you have in your household.  I recommend at least 6 because most deals to complete them will need that many coupons.   Also I always like getting newspapers in even numbers because most deals are for 2 for $5 or I like to write 2/$5.

With the new coupons you purchased start putting deals together for the store you would like to start couponing at.  (The stores that are the best to coupon at will be in another post).  You will most likely use the coupons for the week you purchased your newspaper.

After you begin your first week of couponing then I would start "collecting" tear pad and peelie coupons because you never know when a deal will pop up.

This is the end for Tip #1.  I hope you all enjoyed.  Let me know if there is any way I can improve on this series.  Stay tuned for Tip #2!
